In what cases is heart valve repair performed?
Some symptoms are required to treat valve diseases with heart valve repair. The following conditions are required to repair the valve and perform the surgery without replacing the relevant valve:
- Heart valve leaflets are in order,
- Absence of valve stenosis with heart valve leakage,
- No clot or roughness on the valve,
- Its leaves can easily approach each other,
- The narrowness does not leak backwards when opened.
By evaluating these factors, it is decided whether the valve can be repaired or not. The first preferred method in these surgeries is to repair the valve, but in cases where repair is not possible, valve replacement surgery is performed.
